My Creative Practice this semester will center around my voice and my love for singing. One of the most consistent things in my life has been my love for singing and performing. It time and time again has helped me regulate my emotions and process the ever evolving stages of my life. Having experienced it in an educational setting only helped grow my appreciation and knowledge of my art form. This semester I will focus on the joy and companionship that singing has brought into my life. From this processes I hope to share the magic of singing and hopefully convince you to give it a try, whether that be in the saftey of your shower or in the kitchen while your cooking. I hope to deepen my appreciation for a practice that has helped heal me on a level that no medicine could and continue to explore ways to use my art as a platform for wellness.

Singing Soothes the Soul
I've been singing for as long as I can remember. Whether I was blasting music in the car with my sister or winning the "Twizzler" award in elementary school for randomly getting out of my seat during class to sing and dance in the corner, it has always been a part of who I am. Just like many kids need to exercise on the playground to get their energy out, I needed to sing to soothe my soul. I am so grateful to have has adults and teachers in my life who never shamed me for this habit but rather helped cultivate my love for music. They sent me to a preforming arts middle and high school where I was trained in how to use my instrument.
